The Snaefellsness Glacier overlooks the horsemanship of Iceland.
"Under the Glacier," my Icelander said, "you are Under the Glacier, Just so you know where you are."
UNDER THE GLACIER is a novel by Halldor Laxness, my literary hero.
Snaefellsness Volcano is the site of JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH where the scientists and explorers began their journey.
I stayed at Hotel Elborg and we rode for five days across the bottom of the sea as the tidal flats appeared at low tide. Our schedule followed the tide. Light was present all day and night, sunlight!

Allow me to review Iceland, an enchanting land. My Icelandic brother Svenni Sveinsson came to live with my family in Montana in 1970 for a year. We became brothers as the American Field Society intended. I subsequently visited Iceland for three consecutive summers, 2005, 2006, & 2007. In 2008 their economy and government collapsed.

Emerging from the sea, as the Vikings and their horses must have emerged 1100 years ago. The IceHorse has been separate from the rest of the world population of horses for over 1000 years.
