Equine Veterinary Services focuses on Natural Approaches to horse health. Dr Gustafson specializes in equine sportsmedicine, the prevention, diagnosis and resolution of lameness. He has offices in Bozeman and soon, in Choteau, Montana where the geography allows returning horses to their natural environment to facilitate physical and mental healing. Additionally, he travels to the legendary Saratoga meet each August providing veterinary services for some of the most accomplished equine runners in the world.
Performance horse veterinary services include medical consultations regarding the diagnosis, treatment and resolution of lameness. Joint assessment and tapping can be included to enhance soundness and facilitate healing. Additionally, Dr Gustafson designs and develops treatment and rehabilitation strategies that satisfy equine preferences, resulting in faster, stronger healing. Remedies focus on conventional medicine while utilizing natural approaches facilitate healing. Prepurchase examinations, resolution of equine behavior issues, prevention of lameness, and appropriate horsemanship for performance horses are areas of Dr Sid's expertise and interest.
Dr Gustafson is licensed to practice in New York, Washington, and Montana, and offers consultations throughout the United States and worldwide. He assists horsemen in the design of health and conditioning strategies in accord with the horse's nature and preferences. Re-creation of natural circumstances facilitates peak mental and physical health and performance.
Dr Gustafson focuses on the fulfillment of natural preferences for confined horses--enrichment strategies that accommodate the horse's nature and inherent preferences result in enhanced, consistent, optimum performance. Natural approaches prevent the development of lamenesses, behavioral problems, and illness.
Additional services include non-surgical lameness resolution, and enrichment strategies to soothe and heal horses exposed to excessive confinement, travel, and competition.
